Bus Driver/Mechanic Asst.

Lead Driver/Route Supervisor
Summary: First line supervisor of all bus drivers, and district drivers. Confirm coverage of daily routes; oversee day to day operations of all department drivers for accuracy and timeliness. Field questions and concerns from district administration and parents. Maintain confidentiality of driver, and student information. Performs necessary evaluations of all department drivers. Reports Director of Transportation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Monitor staff attendance, and maintain staff absence reports
Payroll approval and tracking, monitoring of department hours
Ensure coverage of all daily routes, schedule substitutions or alternate arrangements as needed for coverage.
Delegate route and field trip assignments as needed based on department policy
Correspond with administrators and parents regarding concerns, feedback, and inquiries.
Communication and planning with site administration, routing cord. and department drivers to ensure the best bus experience for our students.
Plan and facilitate monthly drivers meeting
Oversee that all DPS standards are maintained department wide
Prior experience in people management a plus
Strong computer and documentation software skills preferred
Remedy logistic challenges as required with routing coordinator

High school diploma or GED
Valid AZ drivers license ? CDL with passenger and school bus driver endorsement required.
3-5 years supervisor experience preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
Strong knowledge of DPS Student Transportation guidelines and policies
Working Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands; the employee is frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Terms of Employment
Salary based on column H Classified Salary schedule as established by the Governing Board.
12 month position, 8 hours per day.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
